PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Pile offers an alternative to the static and standard mannequin-style retail window displays.
Installed in a window display, it reacts to the presence and attention of passersby and allows them to animate a model on a large video screen using the common reality of large piles of clothes.
How do you choose your favorite clothes?
--Stop in front of the display to choose the items you like, and play.

Pile brings play and humor to the story of the display and engages the audience with an experience that is closer to their realities.

From a branding perspective, the interactive aspect of the display which engages the participants directly in the streets lures them into the brand much faster.
A glimpse at a static mannequin is noncommittal. But when the user actually bring life to the garments on display, he is already committed to listening and his attention is much bigger if nothing else but out of curiosity.

Scenario #1 :When a user stops to watch, the model will pick up the garment corresponding to the physical position of the user and lift it up, bringing it from the physical pile of clothes magically into her video world.

scenario #2:As the user moves around the sidewalk, different garments are shown each corresponding to the users position. When a second user joins in, they can start to mix and match different garments in all combonations. This cooperation creates a dynamic social interaction. Hidden within the video world of the model are 'easter eggs', surprise actions beyond display of the clothing.

scenario #3: When three or more people stop to watch, the model in the video performs a pre-recorded fashion show ('the party" scene) presenting a variety of combinations of 3 or more of the articles at a time.
